Pimple Patches in India Compared (2026): Thin vs Hydrocolloid, Price per Patch
A hydrocolloid patch and a thin spot patch do different jobs. We compared nine pimple patches sold in India, ours included, on format, patch count, actives and price per patch, which ran from about ₹3 to ₹75 on 12 October 2026.
There is no single best pimple patch in India: match the format to your spot first (hydrocolloid for a pimple that has come to a head, a thin patch for an early spot you want under makeup), then compare price per patch. We checked nine pimple patches, also sold as acne or spot patches, on 12 October 2026. Hydrocolloid dots from Indian brands were the cheapest, from about ₹3 a patch. The microneedle patch cost the most, about ₹75 a patch.
Our own S-Zinc Zero-Fit Ultra Thin Blemish Spot Patch is in the table, marked as ours and held to the same columns. At ₹1,499 for 72, about ₹21 a patch (12 October 2026), it costs more than most of the hydrocolloid patches here, and it is not a hydrocolloid patch: it does a different job, explained below. We have not picked a winner. If you are new to patches, start with how to use pimple patches.
Pimple patch prices in India, side by side (12 October 2026)
Each product name links to the listing we checked. "Price shown" is what that page displayed on 12 October 2026, with the MRP in brackets. Five prices come from the brand's own Indian site and four from Amazon.in, as listed under "How we checked" below. "Actives stated" lists the main actives each listing names; several also add plant extracts such as centella or tea tree, and most give no amounts.

Aqualogica's 30 were ₹400 on its site and ₹336 on Amazon.in. Check more than one seller before you buy.
Hydrocolloid vs thin vs microneedle pimple patches
Pimple patches look alike in a product photo. They are three different tools, and each suits a different stage of a spot.
Hydrocolloid: for a pimple with fluid in it
Hydrocolloid is what Cleveland Clinic calls a "wound-healing gel". A 2025 review in the Journal of Clinical Medicine describes the inner layer of a hydrocolloid dressing as materials such as carboxymethylcellulose, pectin and gelatin, which form a gel, absorb fluid and keep the area moist. On a pimple, it soaks up what comes out. Cleveland Clinic says patches are "most effective when placed over open-and-oozing zits" and do not work as well on closed ones. Mighty Patch's listing says the same of its own patch: it works best on whiteheads that have come to a head.
A hydrocolloid patch turns white as it absorbs. Nua's listing tells you to remove it after 8 hours or when it turns white. The "ultra-thin" patches from The Derma Co, Quench and Aqualogica are still hydrocolloid, made thinner and with actives such as salicylic acid added. They do their main job on a spot with fluid in it: Aqualogica's own FAQ says that in deep cystic acne, hydrocolloid patches "won't have much to absorb".
Thin spot patch: for an early spot
A thin spot patch is for a spot that has not come to a head yet. Benzac's listing describes an ultra-thin patch for emerging pimples, with actives "directly released into the skin"; it does not say what the patch is made of. Ours is a film 0.013 mm thick, built on an acrylate adhesive rather than hydrocolloid. It holds its actives against the skin and sits flat under makeup. It is not for an open, oozing pimple: its directions say not to use it on broken skin. That is hydrocolloid's job.
Microneedle: tiny points that dissolve
A dissolving microneedle patch has tiny points on its underside that dissolve into the top layer of skin. Conscious Chemist says its "tiny dissolving microneedles painlessly penetrate the epidermis" to deliver salicylic acid and niacinamide. You get the fewest patches per pack, and the highest price per patch in our table.
| Hydrocolloid (including ultra-thin) | Thin spot patch | Microneedle | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it does | Absorbs fluid and covers the spot | Holds actives against the skin on a thin film | Tiny dissolving points carry actives into the top layer of skin |
| Matched to | A pimple with fluid in it, such as a whitehead that has come to a head | An early spot that has not come to a head | Inflamed spots (what the one trial below tested) |
| Per patch in our table (12 Oct 2026) | ₹3 to ₹22 | ₹21 to ₹29 | ₹75 (₹35 on Amazon.in) |
How to choose the best pimple patch in India
1. Format first
Look at the spot before you look at the price. If it has come to a head, a hydrocolloid patch is the matching tool, and the cheapest packs in the table do that job. If it is an early bump you want to hide through a working day, a wedding or a Diwali party, a thin patch fits better. Either way, a patch deals with one spot at a time: Cleveland Clinic notes that patches "cannot prevent acne from coming, nor can they clear clogged pores". If you break out often, or get deep, painful spots, see a dermatologist.
2. Count and price per patch
Divide the price by the number of patches. Urban Yog's ₹227 for 72 is about ₹3 a patch; our ₹1,499 for 72 is about ₹21 (both on 12 October 2026). Check what the count includes: Urban Yog's 72 are 24 large and 48 small dots. Leave "Buy 2 Get 2" offers out of the sum unless you will really use four packs.
3. Actives, and whether amounts are stated
Most patches here add salicylic acid, which the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) says "helps unclog pores and prevent new acne breakouts". Few listings say how much. Benzac's gives 0.5% salicylic acid, Conscious Chemist's Amazon.in listing gives 2% salicylic acid, and The Derma Co's site lists niacinamide at 2%. We do not state amounts for ours either.
Weigh actives after format, not before. The 2025 review found no studies yet suggesting that adding other ingredients to a hydrocolloid patch makes it work better.
4. Size
Pick a patch that covers the whole spot; Quench's directions say to find a size that covers the pimple. Mighty Patch and ours come in a single 12 mm size. Urban Yog, Quench (10 mm and 12 mm) and The Derma Co (three sizes) mix sizes, which helps if your spots vary. Nua's own site says its 36 come in multiple sizes, without listing them. The listings we read for Aqualogica, Benzac and Conscious Chemist do not give sizes.
5. Whether it stays invisible under makeup
Most brands here say their patch can be worn under makeup, so the claim does not separate them. A stated thickness does, and only one listing gives a number: ours, 0.013 mm (13 micrometres). For scale, human hairs measure about 17 to 181 micrometres across, according to The Physics Factbook. Remember too that a hydrocolloid patch turns white as it fills, so on a spot with fluid in it, it shows more as it works. For the steps, see how to wear a pimple patch under makeup.
Do pimple patches work? What the research says
- Hydrocolloid: small but encouraging. The 2025 review describes a 2006 pilot study of 20 people with mild to moderate acne, in which a hydrocolloid dressing reduced acne severity and inflammation over seven days compared with skin tape. It also describes a 2024 conference abstract: in 41 people aged 12 to 35, an extracted pimple improved more in size, redness, texture and height over 14 days with hydrocolloid patches and gentle washing than with gentle washing alone; the full paper was not available when the review was written. The review's verdict: few clinical studies, more needed.
- Microneedle: in a 2023 trial in Bangkok with 35 adults, dissolving microneedle patches shrank inflamed spots more than leaving them untreated. Patches loaded with a steroid medicine cleared spots fastest. The cosmetic patches in our table were not tested.
- Thin spot patches: we found no published study on this format. We hold no test report on our own patch, so we make no claims about results.
One benefit applies to every format: a covered spot is harder to pick. Cleveland Clinic counts protecting the spot from infection and further picking among a patch's jobs. That matters on brown skin. The AAD notes that for people with skin of colour, acne is often accompanied by dark spots that "can last much longer than the acne", and that picking, popping or squeezing raises the risk of a scar.
How we checked
Prices and claims as listed on 12 October 2026. We read every product page that day. Prices come from the brand's own Indian site for Urban Yog, Quench, Aqualogica, Conscious Chemist and ours, and from Amazon.in for Nua, Mighty Patch, The Derma Co and Benzac. The Derma Co's patches showed as sold out on its own site (at ₹275), so we used its Amazon.in listing, sold by Honasa Consumer Limited, which markets the brand. Mighty Patch and Benzac were sold on Amazon.in by third-party sellers. "Price shown" includes any discount the page applied automatically; MRP is in brackets; multi-buy offers are left out. Per-patch figures are rounded to the nearest rupee.
We could not open Nykaa or Tira product pages, and COSRX's patches did not appear in our Amazon.in or Myntra searches that day, so they are not included. This is not a complete list of pimple patches sold in India. We did not test any product; this compares published facts only, the same way we compared PDRN creams and serums. Prices change often. If anything here is wrong or out of date, write to korecare.in@gmail.com and we will correct it.
Frequently asked questions
Which is the best pimple patch in India?
There is no single best; it depends on the spot. For a pimple that has come to a head, use a hydrocolloid patch: in our check on 12 October 2026, the lowest price per patch was about ₹3, for Urban Yog's 72-dot pack. For an early spot you want to hide under makeup, use a thin patch, and look for a stated thickness. Then compare price per patch.
Hydrocolloid patch vs thin patch: which should I use?
Use hydrocolloid on a pimple with fluid in it, such as a whitehead that has come to a head, because it absorbs that fluid. Use a thin patch on an early spot that has not come to a head, especially under makeup. If you get both kinds of spot, you may want both.
Are invisible pimple patches hydrocolloid?
Often, yes. The Derma Co, Quench and Aqualogica all sell "ultra-thin" patches that are hydrocolloid. Ours is not: it is an acrylate film. "Invisible" is not a measurement, so look for a stated thickness.
How much do pimple patches cost in India?
In our check on 12 October 2026, packs cost ₹145 to ₹1,499, or about ₹3 to ₹75 per patch. Hydrocolloid dots from Indian brands were the cheapest per patch, and the microneedle patch the most expensive.
Do pimple patches work on blackheads or cystic acne?
Not well. Cleveland Clinic says patches do not offer much help with blackheads. Mighty Patch's listing says it is not suitable for cystic acne or blackheads, and Aqualogica says hydrocolloid has little to absorb in deep cystic acne. For deep or frequent acne, see a dermatologist.
About our S-Zinc Zero-Fit spot patch
The KoreCare S-Zinc Zero-Fit Ultra Thin Blemish Spot Patch is a thin micro patch, 0.013 mm thick, for early, emerging spots and for wearing under makeup. It is made in South Korea. It is not hydrocolloid, so for a pimple that has already come to a head, a hydrocolloid patch is the better match. The pack lists its actives and what each is there for: sulfur to help reduce excess oil, zinc PCA to help maintain oil balance, salicylic acid to help exfoliate dead skin cells, and AHA and PHA (citric and lactobionic acid) to help gently smooth texture. Niacinamide, panthenol, centella, tea tree and propolis (a bee product) are in it too; no amounts are stated. You can look up each one in our ingredient dictionary.
Apply it straight after cleansing, on clean and completely dry skin, press it down, and put makeup over it if you like. Each patch is single use. Do not use it on broken, irritated or sunburnt skin, or if you are allergic to salicylic acid. A box of 72 patches, all 12 mm, costs ₹1,499 (MRP ₹2,499), about ₹21 a patch (12 October 2026), with Cash on Delivery on all orders and free shipping across India.
